J HOUSE INTERIOR DESIGN
Developer: Private Owner
Suburb: Brighton East
Originally constructed without a cohesive design vision, this residence called for a careful reordering of its interior spaces. Through a restrained architectural language, we addressed the inherent limitations of the existing layout and the imbalance of its window proportions.
Rather than attempting to erase the building’s past, the design seeks to restore balance within the existing conditions. Natural materials, soft light and clean lines establish a calm spatial backdrop, allowing everyday life to unfold with a renewed sense of tranquillity and ease.
The use of two distinct marbles introduces subtle yet clearly defined shifts in character—one warm and grounded, the other delicate and elegant. Together, they create a considered dialogue while reflecting the homeowner’s multifaceted sensibility across different moments of daily life.
